French lessons for children (ages 5-10)

I have been successfully teaching French to children in Bath, UK, since 2012, helping young learners develop confidence, fluency and a genuine enthusiasm for learning French.

Each lesson is carefully planned to build confidence while developing essential vocabulary, pronunciation and basic grammar through interactive activities.

Children learn French naturally through a variety of games, puzzles, songs and age-appropriate exercises, including Le mot caché, Les lettres mélangées, Les syllabes and popular language games such as Je pars en vacances et j'emporte avec moi…. Lessons also include familiar songs like Les jours de la semaine, Les mois de l'année and Les cactus, making learning enjoyable and memorable.

My French classes for children encourage active participation, helping young learners develop listening, speaking, reading and early writing skills in a positive and supportive environment. Every activity is designed to make learning French fun while laying strong foundations for future language learning.

Based on my experience, 45-minute lessons are the ideal length for children in this age group. They provide enough time to learn and practise new language while keeping children motivated, engaged and focused from beginning to end.
